CBe-CI. Amos Lewis, b. April 7, 1785, Wells, Vt. (Nathaniel (4) Lewis, Mary 3, John 2, Wm.1). m. Mar. 28, 1809, Kesiah Ward. They were m. by Rev. Shubasel Lamb at Wells. She was dau. of Lieut. David and Abigail (Ray) Ward. They were divorced and he m. (2) in 1833, at Harmony, N.Y., Mrs. Lydia (Doolittle) Lewis, b. Aug.8,1792.

She was widow of his brother Miles. She d. Sept. 21, 1847, at Barrington, Illinois. He m. (3) Mrs. Fannie (Williams) Spaulding (wid. of Almon Spalding), b. Yates, N.Y., Dec. 7, 1805, d. Magnolia, Rock Co., Wis., Nov. 1864.

Amos d. Nov. 27, 1876, Broadhead, Wis., bur. at Magnolia, Wis. (Here folllows a most extraordinary item. Evidently an error in copying, and probably refers to an ancestor).

"For his services in Rev. War (Capt. Daniel Haskell's Company, Col. Warren's Regt) he obtained 160 acres of land which he located in Wisconsin at Magnolia where he spent his last days. He m. (4) Jan. 3., 1867, widow Elisa Markle."

CBe-dF. Lemuel Smith, b. July 18, 1774 (Mary (4) Lewis, Mary 3, John 2, Wm.1). m. Nov. 14 (17?) Nancy Jones (Woodruffs' Residents of Litchfield, p. 203). They lived near Northfield, Litchfield Co., Conn., nad their home was still standing and occupied in 1910, though it had passed out of the possession of the family and was badly out of repair. It stands at a sharp angle of the road, facing directly down the way that leads, a short distance beyond, to the home of David (5) brother of Lemuel. Lemuel Smith d. Jan. 13, 1852, and his wife d. Jan. 4, 1861.

CBe-dG. David Smith, b. ca. 1777 (Mary (4) Lewis, Mary 3, John 2, Wn.1). m. Anna Bartholomew. In 1910 their old homestead was still standing and occupied by descendants. It is near Northfield, Litchfield Co., Conn., a short way from the home of his brother, Lemuel. It was in good repair and an interesting specimen of the old Colonial homes.

     Children: Hiram, Charles, Truman, Mary, Samuel, Edward-died unmarried, Benjamin, David, James, Anna.  (Ref. Smith Gen., p.21-22).
